Puppy hates closed doors. She will sit there and stare at the door as if willing the door to open (much like the look I give a corked wine bottle or the timer when I'm waiting for the french press to be ready). The most annoying door-and the door we have to open for her is the one to the laundry room. Her potty is in there. But when we are doing laundry we keep it closed because even the quiet machines are still annoying. Between loads, or when I'm up doing stuff I try to make sure if she's around the door I open it for her. Usually when I'm proactive with the door she'll just look in the room for a minute and then walk away. What usually ends up happening is we have both settled down to watch a movie or have dinner and thats when she wants the door open. And she wants it open immediately. She paws at the door furiously and without pause until we get up and open it for her. Sometimes she will actually go in, other times she just wants to sit outside the open door and watch the washer and other times she walks away. Nice.
It's hard to stay mad at this face for long!
Three o'clock in the morning is the time she decides to hunt her milk jug rings, and meow loudly for us to come see and praise her "kill". I think she has put in the time and done the research to find the spot in the house where her meow is the loudest. She loves to do this on the nights we really need a good nights sleep. And usually she will do it several times a night. I believe she knows to listen for the change in our breathing to know when we are asleep so she can wake us up all over again.
Puppy is not really a lap cat. If she wants to sit on a lap it's on her terms, and the lap has to be just right. I have to be sitting in the right position on the couch or she will sit and stare at me until I have done so. Even after I have assumed the correct sitting position it's a 50/50 chance that she will actually sit on my lap. Sometimes she'll just look at me for a moment and then saunter away. Sometimes she'll walk all over my lap and then saunter away. And when I say saunter this is her swishing away flicking her tail.
Most of the time she is a look but don't you dare touch pet. She likes to be in the same room as us, but if we want to pet her or hug her she turns into a fuzzy ball of rage. She slap/punches and hisses and slinks away to shoot nasty looks at us from across the room.
I know she is just doing cat things, and I don't always really believe she does these things on purpose. Despite all that, I still am crazy about her like a contained crazy cat lady. She adds to the home-ness of home. It would not be the same without her and her larger than life cat-attude. I just told her she is a pretty girl and she turned her back to me. I feel the love. ;)

Aww, Puppy! :) At least her antics make for some entertaining stories, tho!
